Can someone help me with my bedroom decor?
I'm just about to renovate my bedroom. I'm very excited! There's only one problem, I need advice. I'm going for a Hawaiian, Polynesian, South Pacific look for my room. I already have a ton of pineapples, but I don't know what color I should paint my walls. I also can't find furniture that fits my vision. Where can I buy this style of furniture? What color should I paint my room? Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do?
When I think Hawaii I think surf and colorful sunsets. So I'd start maybe with blue, white and soft pastels. OK, not guy colors. Have you looked at Hawaiian posters? Check on line as they will guide you in color selections.
Furniture will be light and airy.......wicker/rattan for example. Any chance of getting one of those wicker chairs that hang from a chain? You'd have to secure it into a ceiling rafter/stud....whatever those are called across the ceiling. Window treatment would be the bamboo rollups. Colored.......maybe or just natural. Floor.....if you could find a sisal rug.....they are sorta bamboo-ie. Surfboard for the wall? OK, that might be a bit much. Tiki god type accents? Torches....don't light them! Gosh I remember far too many "polynesian bars" with fish nets on the walls along with star fish and glass balls...the Japanese fishing balls.
