What kind of music your parents listen to?
I know this question is a little, but I just found some old tapes my father and oh the memories!;-P in the box of tapes that I found there are Ozzy Osbourne, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, David Allan Coe, The Rolling Stones The Black Crowes, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Pink Floyd and a lot of bands that are not labeled them ... I have not heard, So I'm not sure what they are. He listened to many different types of music and was obsessive about it. That's all we have done in my home growing ... listening to music. Even questionnaire, lol! Use it to annoy me, but I'm grateful. He loved music and only wanted love, and now I do. My mother never supported for music. She listened to the radio in the car but that was it. So why no?
Wow ... if only I had parents as cool as yours! LOL my dad to this day is convinced that there are 2 kinds of music: country and western. His list was: SENIOR Kenny Rodgers Hank Williams Johnny Cash Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, Elvis single diversion. It forbids any other kind of music in the house. However, there a significant age difference between him and my mother - who was serving in Vietnam, where my mother was just a teenager! (They were 29 and 17 when they married.) So ... My mother was the Queen of Disco, and when my dad went to work, the floor is raised off its 8tracks and danced all day until my father would be home. His list includes: the "Bee Gees Disco Duck, Rick Dees Sister Sledge Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer The Jackson 5 Well, you know the list! So MTV's premiere in 1981 (I know, I'm old) ... and I had a lot of Michael Jackson and Madonna, and of course The Buggles ( "Video Killed the Radio Star"). As I get older, I gravitated toward and bands Guns'n'Roses dry thrash metal, Gwar, Motley Crue, Metallica ... both my parents had not told me that music was just noise. Ironically, he ended to become a professional jazz musician, and I do classical concerts, if I need money! I also play a little ska here and there. LOL None my parents like or understand what I play, but support it by buying tickets to shows (and later give me a reason why their seats were empty). Hahaha. But I always enjoy the background music they have given me strange, and still hear (and love) almost anything with nothing! Fun question, btw.
